We released the latest version of the Scribe Online platform on April 6. My colleagues will write about the primary features elsewhere on this blog, but I wanted to point out some improvements that will make your life easier, and even happier, as a Scribe Online user.
My personal favorite is something that’s missing. After all, sometimes less is more. Before this release, Scribe Online would present a dialog box when you tried to close the tab in your browser saying, “Are you sure you want to leave?” It even did this on the login screen. We’ve removed the message from most of the app, leaving it only on the mapping canvas screen so you won’t lose your work.
Second, debugging maps is now much faster. We’ve streamlined the process so you’ll spend less time waiting and you can find map errors quickly and move on with your integration design.
Third, there are new agent status options that give you better visibility into agent activities from the cloud. The status now tells you when agent and connector updates are pending, when the agent is updating a connector, and when an agent is restarting or waiting to restart (agents complete any active jobs before restarting).
Fourth, the solution status transitions are smoother. You’ll notice this when you edit maps and run solutions from the UI.
Finally, you can now download on-premise agent logs from the UI. This is great for people who don’t have access to the machine running the agent. The gear menu on the agent screen now has an option for “Request Agent Logs.” See the release notes for more details. We hope you enjoy the improvements.
