I recently spoke with business intelligence in the cloud providers, BiyCloud, about the value of choosing Scribe Online instead of building the functionality in-house
Lynn Harrington: Tell me about BiyCloud and your solution.
Nacho Bibián of BiyCloud: BiyCloud is a Spanish company that has always had an international scope. Since 2012 BiyCloud has focused on implementing a model for delivering Business Intelligence in the Cloud. In addition to the leading BI tool QlikView, the BiyCloud Smart platform also integrates different technologies in order to give our partners and users a powerful and flexible solution for their BI needs. Thanks to Scribe Online we can now transform it into a real Cloud BI platform.
Lynn: What is the value of your solution for partners and/or customers?
Nacho: Other cloud propositions from BI vendors do not fully operate in the cloud, just offer a way to share dashboards that work in local environments. We are here for those users that are looking for a solution that works 100% in the Cloud, and for those partners that want to offer their services along with a real Cloud BI under their own brand and supported by cutting-edge technologies such as QlikView, NPrinting or Scribe Online.
Lynn: Why did you look for a platform such as Scribe Online instead of building the functionality in-house?
Nacho: The internal development of a platform similar to Scribe would mean a huge investment and years of work. For BiyCloud, our go-to-market and timing was critical, since we had already all the elements required to build a real Cloud BI. However, we lacked the most important piece: a way to integrate the data, especially from On-Premise systems.
Lynn: Why did you finally choose Scribe Online?
Nacho: The total capability to operate online was critical for us and when we tried the application we were convinced this was the way we wanted to go. The existence of a Scribe Connector for QlikView was very helpful for us, and the team of Scribe understood immediately our idea and helped us building a business model that would be beneficial for both companies.
Lynn: How can partners and customers learn more about your solution?
Nacho: We are on Twitter (in Spanish and English) @BiyCloud, and on our website (also in Spanish and in English) http://biycloud.com/en/company.html. We are also hosting webinars with demos of the platform: http://biycloud.com/eventos/webinar-arquitectura-biycloudsmart-en.html.
