Scribe Insight
The technology foundation for Scribe Adapters and all Scribe integrations and migrations is Scribe Insight. This powerful, yet flexible tool incorporates the essential building blocks to support a wide range of integration and migration requirements for both Small & Mid-sized businesses, as well as for Enterprise organizations (see our Failover capability for Enterprise) for both hosted (SaaS) applications and on-premise applications. The three key components of Scribe Insight are:
- Scribe Workbench
- Scribe Console
- Scribe Integration Server
Scribe Workbench

Using the Workbench for field concatenation

Using the Workbench step controls

Easily test before you run your integration
The Scribe Workbench is a rich graphical environment in which you can create template files that define source and target data connections, data cleansing rules, data mappings, transformation formulas, and data processing logic.Template files created by the Scribe Workbench are reusable, portable, and easily modified.
Features of the Scribe Workbench include:
- Lookups - Define exact or "fuzzy" matching to de-dupe data using multiple fields with AND/OR logic.
- Formulas - Convert data using one or more of 150 functions for case conversion, field concatenation or decomposition, calculations, field parsing, field substitution and conditional conversion.
- Step Control - Automatically branch to different steps to update data, insert data, stop processing data, or set an error based on user defined conditions.
- Source configuration - Filter data to be processed based on changes or user defined criteria.
- Custom function creation - Create custom functions in the form of in-process ActiveX DLLs written in languages such as VB, Java, or C++.
- Simple Testing - Easily test your integration before running it.
Scribe Console

Step 1 - the Scribe Console Integration Process

Step 3 - integration process detecting the data file (XML) and kick off
The Scribe Console provides an intuitive user interface and single point of management to create, control, and manage key aspects of any number of data loading or integration processes.
Features of the Scribe Console include:
- Event management - Precisely define the latency for integrations from scheduling batch processes, to establishing near real-time polling intervals based on a file drop or the results of a source-side query, to real-time processing of messages arriving in a queue.
- Notification - Automate system monitoring of business level events or integration errors with configurable alerts via e-mail, page and net send.
- Error and exception handling - Review execution history of what processes succeeded or failed including detailed error reporting.
- Data views - Get on-screen editable views of pre-defined queries that can be displayed in chart or lists format.
Scribe Integration Server
The Scribe Integration Server facilitates the exchange of data between two or more applications or databases.
Features of the Scribe Integration Server include:
- Windows Services - Monitor and detect events, process messages, raise alerts, and provide an access point for the Scribe Console to the other services.
- Internal Database - Store all execution and error logging, persisted integration settings, cross reference tables, and important integration statistics in its own internal database.
- Small footprint - Eliminate the need for a dedicated server by running Scribe Insight on one of your application or database servers.
Scribe Insight Enterprise – Failover via Microsoft Cluster Service
The Scribe Server also provides for high availability with the unattended failover capability in the Enterprise version. Utilizing failover clusters in Windows Server, a failover instance of the Scribe Server is instantly activated upon any interruption on the primary Server instance as depicted in the diagram below. Since this failover instance utilizes the same shared resources as the primary instance, integration processing seamlessly continues uninterrupted.
